Top 5 Fall Hair Trends

The seasons will soon be changing, whether we like it or not. As ever, the fashion world is one step ahead of nature – walk down any high street in the country and you’ll see autumn collections bursting out of every shop window.
But before getting your autumn wardrobe in place, it’s only right that you perfect your autumn hair!
With that in mind, below are five of the hottest styles set to rock the streets and catwalks alike this fall – take your pick!
1. Short pixie
Emma Watson inspired cuts are set to be huge this autumn. Not only is the pixie both striking and cute, but it’s fantastically low maintenance – ideal for when you’re out and about in those gusty autumnal winds! Emma recently described cutting off her locks as “the most liberating thing ever”. Keep your newly liberated hair in check with the right hair care products – use a minimal amount of wax and try adding finishing gloss for a sleeker pixie.
2. Boyish side partings
The not-quite-so-drastic side parting is a great way to freshen up your look, safe in the knowledge that if you’re not happy, changing it back takes seconds!
This style is smart and elegant, meaning it works brilliantly both at work and out on the town. If you struggle with unruly hair simply add a frizz control hair care product for instant class.
3. The mid-length bob
Katy Perry landed in Japan to start the Asian leg of her world tour sporting a shiny black mid-length bob. No stranger to using props to switch up her look, Katy instantly sparked a frenzy of ‘is it a wig, isn’t it a wig’ discussions on beauty forums.
Either way, the mid-length bob is a great look this autumn, and oozes timeless glamour. Katy combined her jet black do with dark lashes and a strong lipstick for a classic 1920′s inspired look. There are several hair care products out there that can help keep frequently styled hair supermodel sleek – try using a protective spray before applying heat.
4. The top knot
As worn by Hilary Duff at the Teen Choice Awards, the top knot is next seasons on trend up-do. Apply styling lotion from root to tip before roughly blow-drying hair. Next gather a high ponytail then twist into a bun, leaving the ends out for a textured, edgy look. The must have hair care products for the top knot are styling lotion to make the hair more manageable, and medium-hold hairspray to finish.
5. Big volume
Less is not always more. Unlike the other styles that make the top five, this style isn’t really a low maintenance option, but when done right looks absolutely stunning.
Choose carefully when it comes to the hair care products – the right one can save hours in front of the mirror. Try using a root lifter before blow drying from the roots upwards for added body.
Whatever look you choose this autumn, perfect it with the right hair care products to ensure your style lasts through the day, come rain or shine.

Curly Hairstyles for Fall

A very neat hairstyle for short curly hair is a pixie. Pixies were popular in the 1960’s and 1970’s and their appeal has never faded from fashion. You can have a close cropped pixie or leave your hair a bit longer. Use a styling paste to define your curls or give you a smoother look. Bangs are a cute addition and your stylist can tailor your cut to your facial shape.
Bobs are some of the most classic hairstyles and have been popular since the 1920’s. Have your stylist cut your hair a bit longer than you want it since curly hair draws up as it dries. You can have a graduated bob with the back shorter than the front; a stacked bob gives you a slightly more defined lock than a graduated bob and is also a good choice for short curly hair. Bobs can be very short, above your jaw line, at your jaw line or below your jaw line depending on how long you want your hair to be.
You may also want to consider a layered look. Layered cuts bring out the natural curl and body of your hair. If you opt for a layered cut ask your stylist for professional products to define your curls. This is a great cut to bring out the natural beauty of curly hair and is practically maintenance free. With a layered cut you will be able to wash and go.
For a more polished look choose a medium length or long blunt cut. The longer you have your hair – the looser you curl will be. This is because the weight of your hair pulls your curls down and makes them looser. Use a large barrel curling iron to define your curls. Always use heat protective products before you use any high heat tools like curling irons and flat irons to protect your hair from breakage and damage. You can control the tightness of your curls with the diameter of the barrel of your curling iron.
For special occasions, pull your hair up in a messy bun and let your curls fall. Up-dos are great hairstyles for curly hair. You can wear your hair half up and let your natural curls fall down your back. Add some pretty hair clips or pins for an extra bit of glam. Curly hair is beautiful. Embrace your natural curls and try out some of these neat hairstyles for curly hair.

Feeling bored? Here are some fun and inspiring beauty ideas to keep you busy this autumn.
  1. Be a star. Get together with your friends and create your own photo shoot. Do each other’s makeup, choose outfits, and get ready to pose.
  2. Get inspired. Flick through the latest magazines for fall-inspired fashion and beauty looks. Stick them up on your wall for some seasonal inspiration.

  5. Do a fall clean. Spend a day packing away your summer clothes. Your wardrobe will be much less cluttered, and you’ll be able to plan your outfits with ease.
  6. Have a movie night. Invite your girlfriends and cue up the DVD player. Pick something fun and feminine, likeClueless!
  7. Start a new regimen. Fall is the perfect time to start your moisturizing routine. Stick a reminder note in your bathroom to moisturize your whole body after every shower!
  8. Make over your dresser. A pretty dresser can improve your mood and make you feel more creative. Follow our tips to design something special.

6 Fall Beauty Trends We Can't Wait to Try!

1.Wine-Stained Lips
Move over pinkish hues and subtle glosses, we’re moving into darker territory for fall. Wine-stained lips graced fall runways from Carolina Herrera to Peter Som, and we can’t wait to paint our pouts in robust shades of shiraz, muted tones of merlot and rich burgundy hues. Going from soft peachy and light berry tones to richer colors is one of the easiest ways to transition your look from summer to fall.

2.Gold Lids

Gold lids were everywhere on the fall runways and even though we were skeptical about how this understated look would translate to the real world, our fears have been abated. Soft glimmers of gold or even punchier pops of brassier hues on our lids brighten everything up and open up our eyes for a fresh, autumn-inspired look. It’s easy to make this trend your own – simply choose the level of shimmer you feel comfortable with and start playing around until you get the perfect, golden glow on your eyes.

3.Smokey Eyes

Though smokey eyes never really go away, there are ebbs and flows where this perennial beauty trend is concerned. But when it comes to this fall, smokey eyes – from the subtly sexy to the downright dramatic – are back in a big way. From ashy, almost charcoal-esque eyes on models sashaying for Vera Wang to a more burnt-orange hue seen on the Rag & Bone runway, smudged and smokey is in.

4.Metallics

There’s nothing that enhances a smokey eye more than a swipe of silver, shimmery slate or bronze, and this fall get ready to layer your lids with something metallic. We love the elegance and sophistication this look adds to most skin tones and how effortless it is to achieve a muted, metallic eye. Just swipe, layer and go.

5.Glowing Skin

Glowing skin never goes out of style, but the fresh-faced, natural look is usually more of a summer skin care must. This fall however – as seen on runways from Michael Kors to Marc Jacobs – a fresh-scrubbed, clear complexion is what you want heading into autumn. Trade summer’s tinted moisturizer for a sheer foundation (for a little extra coverage), concealer only where you need it and a minimal dusting of translucent powder – less is more if you want your true glow to shine through.

6.Pops Of Color

One of the fall trends we’re most excited about is the penchant for pops of bright color to an otherwise muted or neutral palette. Bright shadows against matte skin and nude lips or a burst of bold lip color with a minimal amount of eye or cheek color will give your usual look a unique twist. Whether you opt for a pop of fuchsia on your lips or a swipe of bright orangey-pink on your eyes, adding something vibrant to your overall makeup look will help you look  more awake and polished – even when you don’t feel like it.
